Wool or Foam pad?
Do you know how much the choice of a pad can influence the final result?
Probably no; is often underestimated, giving focus only on the polishing paste and not to the media used to polish, but we’re going to know how it effects the performance.
So, which pad do we have to use to polish a boat? The answer is: IT DEPENDS.
Depends on the surface treated, the finishing, the time request, ecc.. There could be more variables.
WOOL PADS
Wools are more abrasive, warm less the surface, allowing the air to pass, but leave more polishing marks.
Surely wools are more used in marine. We propose 3 wool pads:
2 twisted wool pad, the most abrasives, ST1 and ST2, suitable for polishing.
1 fine wool pad, for refinishing, SL3
FOAM PAD
Foams are less abrasive, warm more the surface, but leave less marks.
Foams in marine, being less abrasive, could be used to remove holograms, leaved by wools.
Our pad DA-03 it is meant to industrial refinishing, with polish (like TOPFINISH 2).
Ending, the choice of the pad is very important to:
Obtain the desired result
Not ruin the surface
Spend the right polishing time
I almost forgot, answering to the starting question: THE PAD INFLUENCES “ONLY” THE 30% OF POLISHING
